The Super Polar product line of snow chains are professional grade chains designed for use with forklifts and small tractors and are handmade in Italy by König, a recognized leader worldwide in the manufacture and innovative design of snow chains. Chains feature an asymmetrical cross chain pattern and are constructed of a hardened steel alloy ensuring greater gripping performance and durability. Super Polar chains utilize D-shaped links, are mounted using the traditional drive-on the chain method and are manually tensioned using the tightening lever and tightening chain. Asymmetrical cross chain pattern for dependable grip on icy surfaces. View larger Continuos Grip and Reduced Vibrations for ForkliftsSuper Polar snow chains are handmade in Italy by König, a member of the Thule Group of companies and global leader in snow chain manufacturing for both the professional and consumer market. They feature an asymmetrical cross pattern chain and are constructed of durable galvanized alloy steel with large dual-sided D-shaped links that provide exceptional traction specially designed for forklifts using normal or super elastic tires. Ice breaker reinforcements on horizontal links provide additional traction. View larger König's recommended chain for forklift and small tractor tire applications. View larger Pattern chains are the portion of the snow chain that overlay tire treads, making direct contact with potentially hazardous snow, ice and slush that cover driving surfaces during winter. The asymmetrical cross chain pattern of the Super Polar snow chain presents a honeycomb like pattern topped with additional icebreaker links of chain for tires to ride upon. As tires move, ice encountered is fractured and the varied angles of the chain pattern create constantly changing traction points that ensure the continuous grip that forklifts working in freezing conditions need when lowering and raising palettes of cargo. In addition, individual sections of the pattern chain are connected to the side chain by a single welded ring ensuring equal and consistent tension. This combined with two shackles that regulate the inner side chain and adapt it to different tire profile/wearing levels provides reliable overall tension and minimizing the possibility of vibrations when working on ice. Easy Installation and Manual TensioningKönig Super Polar snow chains feature traditional drive-on the chain installation, and quick and reliable manual tensioning. To install drape chains over each of the tires to be fitted ensuring that connection hooks and tension levers along the inner and outer sides are arranged as far from the tire as possible. Allow the vehicle to roll just enough to drive over the chains. Connect and secure the opening of the side chain running along the inner edge of the tire. Adjust the two shackles along the inner side chain to fine tune the fitting to current tire profiles and/or tread wear levels. The opening of the outer section of side chain is closed using the metal tightening lever which inserts into a link in the opposing edge of the side chain and is then pulled back, cinching the side chain tight. The lever is then secured in place by a separate link located within the side chain. Additional manual tensioning is provided by the tightening chain and coil hook connector that extends from the side chain. Loop the tightening chain around the outer side chain where it meets the pattern chain, allowing just enough slack to connect the coil connector hook to an adjacent segment of the side chain. Drive a short distance before stopping to readjust the tightening chain for optimal tension. Super Polar snow chains are reversible for maximized economy of use. Each chain also ships with open repair links that can be hammered shut or closed with pliers providing an emergency solution for broken or weak spots in a chain. Key Features
